NewsArticle Text:An autopsy will be performed on an Olathe man who died Saturday in the Lake of the Ozarks near Camdenton, authorities there said.Tyler Deeds, 22, had been helping friends remodel a cabin on the lake when he decided to go in the water about 5 p.m. Saturday to cool off, the Camden County Sheriff's Department reported. He collapsed and could not be revived. The sheriff's department listed electrocution, possibly from a cable on a nearby dock, as a potential cause of death. Maureen Deeds, his mother, thinks that is what killed her son. Another person had received a shock from a dock cable earlier.Tyler Deeds graduated from Shawnee Mission Northwest in 2001 and worked as a salesman, his mother said. He also had a part-time job as a bartender and server in a restaurant. He was about 6 feet tall with dark hair and dark eyes, and he was always smiling, his mother said."He was happy," Maureen Deeds said. "He was very happy."

His memorial service will be Thursday morning at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Shawnee, where he was an active member, Maureen Deeds said. He believed in volunteering and was part of the Olathe Jaycees, often helping with the organization's youth sports programs.Besides his parents, Deeds is survived by an older brother, Zak.The autopsy is scheduled for today in Springfield. No other information was immediately available. There have been at least seven other fatalities at the Lake of the Ozarks so far this year, according to the Missouri Water Patrol Web site.To reach James Hart, send e-mail to jhart@kcstar.com.Copyright 2004 The Kansas City Star
